Columbia River

I have always enjoyed driving up to the view point that overlooks the Columbia River.

Birds

I decided to do something nice for the birds, I went to the store and bought a small cage that holds the "cake" they call it. The "cake" is made out of a waxy substance I am not sure what it is and also different seeds, the birds and some Squirrels seems to like it.

Is it spring yet?

Seeing the cherry blossoms slowly coming out makes me want time to speed up a bit so it can finally be spring.

Nothing but noses, ears, and mouths

It was a long day today, I just got home found my sketch pad and all I could draw were noses, ears and mouths.

Cabinet door

I made this painting on a cabinet door, I used acrylics, house paint, and spray paint. It shows a figure pushing away something but yet it comes out of his mouth as he speaks but, in a more organized manner.

Bad lunch

Today I had the worst Chinese food I have ever had! I ordered sweet and sour chicken and PFR, and my friend had ribs and chicken. I just could not finish it because it was not good at all but, I felt bad for the lady who owns the restaurant because, she was so nice and it must have felt bad to see your clients not being able to eat your food -_- I hope she gets a better cook and if she does I'll go back ^_^

Collection of postcards.

Finally I started to gather all the postcards I have been collecting from all the art shows I have been to since 2004. So far I have found about 200 postcards but I know I have many more tucked into books and boxes. I am putting them into a photo album with clear sheets so the front and back of the postcards is visible.

Junk yard

Took a trip to the junk yard to take some pictures, I took many but this 3 are the ones I like the best.

Silkscreening attempt

I was trying to silk screen a new shirt but it didn't come out right! and before washing out the photo-emulsion and the ink I scanned the screen because it looked kind of cool. I know it's hard to see but the shirt was going to have the The Great Wave off Kanagawa by Katsushika Hokusai and on it was going to say surf and have a sunset etc ... silly idea now that i think about it :)
Now it's too late almost midnight and I don't have the energy to make something else . When you are silk screening t-shirts sometimes you win sometimes you don't.

From the movie

I watched "L'homme qui aimait les Femmes" and there was a quote that I quite liked it said something like: "Women's legs are compasses which circle the globe giving it it's balance and harmony"

I want to go!

Long day at the office and, right now all I can think of is how much I would love to take some time off and go to Japan.

On the radio

As I turned the on the radio I caught a fragment of a story. I didn't get a chance to know what the story was about or who they were talking, about all I got is the quote and it has been on my mind all day.

Knives

Today I made another stamp after Andy Warhol's "Knives (1981-1982)"
It's one of my favorite pieces by him. One of the things I like about this piece other than the way it look is that if you know it you will recognize it right away and, if you don't maybe you'll ask me what that weird mark on the back of my hoodie is.

Night

It has been a long time since I looked at the night.

Rays + 日本. Shirt.

Today I felt like screening a shirt but rather than dealing with photo emulsion and screens I decided to make a stamp only because the design was really simple. After a few hours of carving and mostly gathering my tools and paint I had a new shit!
The second stamp that I used reads: "日本" .
It's supposed to say Japan.

It's a start

Ok so I finally got the brush bristles wet and the best thing about it is that I enjoyed it.

Keep trying

I got this calendar thinking it was going to help me learn French. Every morning i rip a page read the sentence a few times try to understand it and learn something from it but then 5 min later its all gone, and the things the write on the calendars is just so random!

Painters block

I swear I must take out my paints and brushes at least 3 times a week and they always go back to their case without a drop of paint on their bristles.

Foggy morning

Woke up this morning to a beautifully, sunny, clear sky but, on my way to work I encountered FOG lots of it! I quickly snapped a picture before I entered the foggy streets simply because it looked so weird then I ventured on, after that nothing terribly interesting happened.

AMPERSANDS

I have become obsessed with ampersands, I have always liked them but lately I just can't get enough of them and i search for them all over. I am currently on the search of the perfect one so i can have it tattooed on me.

The one I used today is Goudy old style.

Oh you pretty things

I really like to look at pretty things I spent a big part of my seeing time trying to spot pretty things in fashion, people, places or simply nice colors, textures, shapes etc... Today on the train I saw a beautiful girl reading VOGUE Magazine.

Forgotten sound

Today I walked for hours taking pictures and this one I find interesting and sad, I miss the old cassette tapes and it's a shame that they are not around anymore.

Waiting for the tow truck

Today my car died by the side of the road, i waited for the tow truck for 2 hrs! after a wile i got bored and sketched the boring scenery.

But it will pass

Whenever I get news I don't want to hear, I get a horrible feeling.

Manola

Today I didn't get a chance to make anything but I did get a nice present from a friend! a box of matches from mexico I love it! It's interesting that always the smallest, weirdest, most random things are the ones that make me happy.

Table for one

After having lunch at the local Chinese restaurant I ate my fortune cookie and read my fortune, it read: "Your greatest fortune is the large number of friends you have."

Light bulb planter

Today i made a light bulb planter like the ones i use to make when i was a kid, in this particular one i will be growing nothing but moss why? because i like the way moss looks always green and soft and i barely have to do anything to keep it alive.
(I apologize for the bad picture but it is nighttime and no matter what i do i keep getting bad pictures i will take some new ones and add them later.)
